Senna

In order to treat chronic constipation, most commonly used agents are inorganic pharmaceutical ingredients, moistening polysaccharides, and natural/synthetic laxatives. The laxatives directly act on the intestinal tract, whereas the others improve and/or maintain the moisture levels of the intestine. Senna is one of the natural laxatives to treat chronic constipation. Senna naturally grows between Africa and India, and it is also cultivated in the same regions. Since ancient times, senna leaves have been consumed as “tea”, or used in a powdery form after drying and grinding.
